MANILA, Philippines (UPDATE) -- The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) on Saturday advised the public, especially those living on the country’s eastern coastline, to stay alert after a powerful earthquake hit Chile.

“Bilang pag-iingat, nagpalabas ang Phivolcs-DOST ng Tsunami Alert Level No. 1 kaninang 3:10 p.m. na ang ibig sabihin kailangang maghanda ang ating mga kababayan,” said Phivolcs director Renato Solidum.

("As a precaution, Phivolcs-DOST issued a Tsunami Alert Level No. 1 this 3:10 p.m. to advise the public to be ready.")

Solidum said that among the eastern coastline areas exposed to possible tsunamis are Cagayan, Bataan, Isabela, Aurora, Albay, Sorsogon, some parts of Samar, some parts of Leyte, Surigao provinces and Davao Oriental.

The Phivolcs director said the issuance of an alert is just part of their standard operating procedure every time there is a tsunami.

Solidum added that there is no evacuation order in effect.

“Ito po ay standard operating procedure natin na kung magkaroon ng malaking earthquake na may abilidad na magdulot ng tsunami dito sa atin, ay nagtataas tayo ng Alert Level 1 para abiso sa ating mga kababayan. Nage-evacuate po tayo pag itinaas natin sa Alert Level No. 3 na tsunami alert,” he said.

("This is a standard operating procedure that when there’s a big earthquake that could bring tsunami to us, we issue Alert Level 1 to advise the public. We only order evacuation when we raise Alert Level No. 3).

Phivolcs issued the alert following the 8.8-magnitude earthquake that struck in the Pacific Ocean near the coast of Chile early Saturday.

In 1960, Chile was hit by the world's biggest earthquake since records dating back to 1900, USGS data shows. The 9.5 magnitude quake devastated the south-central city of Valdivia, killing 1,655 people and sending a tsunami which battered Easter Island 2,300 miles off Chile's Pacific seaboard and continued as far as Hawaii, Japan and the Philippines.

Solidum also said that the earthquake in Chile is not in anyway connected to the recent tremors that hit General Santos City, Butuan City and even Japan.

“Iba-iba ang dahilan ng pagkilos ng mga faults at mga bloke ng mga bato sa ating bansa (there are different reasons for the sudden movements of faults in our country,” he said.

The Phivolcs said that a magnitude 5.3 struck 76 kilometers southeast of General Santos City in South Cotabato province at 12:18 a.m. Saturday.

A shallow magnitude 3.3 also struck 30 kilometers northeast off Butuan City in Agusan del Norte province at 3:35 a.m.

A strong earthquake also hit Japan's southern island of Okinawa. The US Geological Survey said the 7.3 magnitude quake struck at 5:31 a.m. Saturday 52 miles east of the island's capital of Naha, a city of about 320,000 about 1,600 km (1,000 miles) south of Tokyo. -- With reports from Reuters and Agence France-Presse

Ever since the candy society was created on May 2009, there has been no official emblem, badge, siggy or logo. Every version has a now banner, but now the candy society is searching for an emblem creator that will be used throughout the whole year. 100 e-points will be given as prize for the best creator, and will receive the glory of being a candy society officer.

Mechanics:

The emblem should not bigger than a banner or than a siggy.
Background should be the same as the color of e-Games Forum.
The winner emblem will be the official emblem of Candy Society for the whole year.

This Saturday will be the day...

the day of the long-awaited ROAD TO DOMINATION 4!!

R2D4 is an on-ground event officiated by E-games and X-play and it is expected to be THE GAMING EVENT OF THE YEAR!!! I expect nothing less from E-games!! astig talaga dito!

Here are the Events for Dance Battle Audition.

Audista C8 master

The Audista C8 Master 2009 Finals is the final elimination round to determine who will be the Audista C8 Master for this year.

Mechanics:

All winners (6 players) of the weekly Audition’s C8 Master in-game may compete in the tournament.
Players who qualify must register in the booth to signify that they are present during the event.
Players who are not present and/or are not able to register during the given time will be disqualified.
Strict compliance of the “headphones off’ and “hands off keyboards” policy before and after each song
Estimated duration is around 1 hour.
The finals will consist of 3 rounds. The player with the highest accumulative score will win the tournament.
Songs will be chosen at random by the facilitating GM.
All decisions made by the Tournament Facilitators are final. Any disputes will cause the player to forfeit his/her prize.

King of the Dance Floor

The King of the Dance Floor tournament is a Singles Tournament which helps Audistas showcase their own talent in the Audition Dance Floor.

Mechanics:

Any player with a registered e-Games account may join the tournament.
Interested participants must register at the registration booth.
A maximum of 48 players may join the tournament.
Players who are not present and/or are not able to register during the given time will be disqualified.
Strict compliance of the “headphones off’ and “hands off keyboards” policy before and after each song
The contest will consist of 4 main rounds: eliminations, quarterlies, semi-finals and finals.
Songs will be chosen at random by the facilitating GM.
All decisions made by the Tournament Facilitators are final. Any disputes will cause the player to forfeit his/her prize.

Audition Ultimate Mode Tournament

The Audition’s Ultimate Club Tournament aims to showcase the various skills of the Audistas. This tournament is a Club vs. Club Battle to show which club reigns supreme in all modes of Audition.

Mechanics:

All Clubs are eligible to join. They just have to form a team of 3.
Only 12 clubs will be allowed to register.
Registration will be done during the event. This should be done by team. All team members must be present during the registration. Strictly no reservation of slots.
Strict compliance of the “headphones off’ and “hands off keyboards” policy before and after each song
After 12 clubs have registered, the facilitator will randomly assign a group color (either red or blue) for each team.
A group leader will be assigned to carry out the tournament facilitator’s instructions particularly in creating the Room Number, Room Name, Game Mode and the songs to be played.
Each member of the group will be assigned to a computer, Audition Dance Battle server (ex. Underground), Channel (ex. Ch. 20) & Room Number and Name (ex. 001 Audi EB Tourney room).
Each battle is best out of three, the team with the most number of wins will move on to the next round.
There will be 3 major rounds, the Eliminations, Semi-finals & Finals

DJ Pogi: Dance Battle Audition PH (Level 33, 24 and 17), O2jam [Closed] (Level 22), Operation 7 (Level 2), Cabal Online (Level 45)

Interviewer: In what game you out-stand the most? Why?
DJ Pogi: Dance Battle Audition PH, well since it's a casual game, I don't get stuck and be too lazy to make my character's level higher. It's fun to play and I'm really active in the audition community so I know a lot of people, and that makes the game more worth playing more.

Interviewer: When did you start playing Audition?
Dj Pogi: About Two years ago.

Interviewer: Why did you choose babies as your club?
DJ Pogi: Well since I'm active in EBs, I always see them from a distance and they seem very happy and close to each other. I admit that I was jealous of their members before, so I decided to be one of them.

Interviewer: In what name your co-audista know you at the dance floor?
DJ Pogi: Dhiejhae Pogi

Interviewer: Why do you prefer to be called as "Dhiejhae Pogi"?
DJ Pogi: Well first and foremost, I admit that I may be a little "mayabang" at times (ok, maybe not just a little) and I prefer that everyone I know would call me "Pogi" or "gwapo" because I think of myself that way (even though I'm really not). Dhiejhae was the name I was known for eversince I was a stiffy.

Interviewer: What do you think is your advantage or edge to other audistas?
DJ Pogi: Well obviously, I'm more handsome than most of them are. [feeling lang po yun] And more than just an Audista, I am a forumer, an active EB attendee and well, a good friend to audistas in or out of the game.

Interviewer: With the help of your advantage or edge what do you think would be your contribution to Audition Community?
DJ Pogi: I'm just a simple player. I think not using third party programs would be a big help to the audition community.

Interviewer: Do you want to be a Game Master?
DJ Pogi: I SOOOOO WANT TO BE A GM!! I don't even know any E-gamer who doesn't want that position.

Interviewer: What are the things that you want to change or improve in Audition PH?
DJ Pogi: Siguro yung music. Kasi I still can't understand the lines eh. I want music that I can understand. Kahit man lang may english translation diba? 'yung lag din siguro, sana makahanap na ng solution dun. other than that, I'd ask for nothing more. I mean, Cool gameplay, massive handling of players and RHIAN RAMOS for an endorser? how can e-games get any better?!

Interviewer: What are the BEST Features of Audition that attracts you the most?
DJ Pogi: For me? Si Rhian Denise Ramos :]] hahaha. Well, audition is made up of dance and music, and I'm one of the many music lovers this world has produced. the game itself is an attraction to anyone! plus the best feature is you get to meet people on line and make friends with them.

DJ Pogi: E-gamer, audista and forumer? I'd say -AOD-MsBlack. well I was once an AOD member, and that time, we became a little close. I've seen her beauty up-close and I may say that her face is flawless. She's cute and very very sweet. She's reliable and trustworthy, but most of all, the thing I love a lot about her, is she has HUGE muscles. [Thus the term MASCULADOS that I used to call her.] Boy? Well si Chrono.

Interviewer: Do you have special someone? Who is he/she?
DJ Pogi: Her IGN is -B-Darna~ (formerly ~3D~Ms_gEi) and her real name is Ginell Vernice Quiogue.

Interviewer: What do you want tosay to your special someone?
DJ Pogi: the cheeziest, corniest and most "gasgas" line in the english language is the only thing I want to say. I LOVE YOU. I know my words aren't enough for you to see how much I care and love you, but you know I do. You're everything to me, and I wish, hope and pray that you and me are destined to be. you're everything I need for the rest of my life and I don't care about what other people say. I don't care if they'll be in our way. I'd withstand everything for you, and I hope you'll do that for me too. For eternity, for infinity, it'll always be you and me.

Interviewer: How do you see your self 10 years from now?
DJ Pogi: Happy! Hopefully, still steady with Vernice. maybe an Electronics and Communications engineer or a journalist by that time [I've plans of shifting kasi, I haven't made up my mind yet.] I honestly want to be a writer, but considering the state of the Filipino readers at the moment, I'm holding back. I hope that 10 years from now, I'd be one of the instruments to help the Filipinos be interested in books and in reading.

Interviewer: What do you want to say to all of your friends, supporters and fans?
DJ Pogi: YOU MAKE SAMBA MY KAGWAPUHAN! NOW NA! joke. uhmmm, sa supporters and fans, [kung talagang nag-eexist sila sa universe na itoh] hello! haha. thank you for being supportive. and sa friends, I love you guys. this may not be the best time to say it, but I really appreciate your presence. I hope we'd be together much longer, lalong lalo na sa Babies at CS kasi they're the ones who really take my talents seriously. CS has given me the chance to use my talents for the beautification of the group, and I really appreciate them for that.

As forumers may now know, The Candy Society is one of the fastest ~~SPAMMING~~ thread in the Audition Community section of the E-games Philippines forum website.

Recently, CS has launched its new thread (CS v.5: Addiction to Confection Can Never Be a Sin) once again in the E-games forums. With a total of 3,982 posts since CS v.1 and 896 posts (as of 11:55pm October 28, 2009) in the latest version, the Candy Society seems to be going stronger and better.

Since its creation, CS has proved to be one of the most active threads in the forum, because of this fact, many of the CS members post a lot of content and contribute great numbers of SENSIBLE posts for the improvement of the E-games community.
